We only offer accommodation in conjunction with events.
This accommodation is currently at two levels - comfortable, and basic. We are currently upgrading it all but this is a process which will take time.
At the comfortable level we have a one-bedroom suite in the Chaff House, together with an ensuite. The sofa in the living room converts into a bed, so a family could squeeze into it. So ideally, it would fit two, but could go to four people.
The other comfortable building is the Pavilion, with a double and a twin bedroom separated by a shared bathroom. Comfortably sleeps four, with a cot available for little ones.
We also have two basic units, historic wooden units, but small and with no bathroom (guests would need to use the facilities at the function centre). These have double beds and are our version of camping!
The Apple House is being converted into a day lounge with satellite television - possible to hire for children or others who want a retreat from the entertainment in the nearby Function Centre. At this stage we are not planning to have a bed in there.
So the maximum who can be accommodated on the grounds are 12 people. Six comfortably and another six at a squeeze.
The Chaff House (1876)
This is an original stone building once used to grind chaff for horse feed. It has a queen room with ensuite and a sitting room. The sofa bed in the living room gives a little flexibility. Total area is 46 sq.m
The building is located just east of the ruins and next door to the single men's quarters/smoking room/distillery.
The Pavilion (1905)
A 2 double-bedroom 46sq.m 100-year old wooden building not far from the Chaff House and overlooking the main lawn, with extensive decks. Works well for families. Two bedrooms, one a double and the other a twin, are placed in the the wings, either side of a shared bathroom.
Functions/Events
Lauderdale can only be used for one event at a time. This event could use any of our event locations - the church, function centre, old ruins, or spacious lawns. The function centre is licensed and has a fully compliant commercial kitchen. The license runs from 10am to 1am of the following day.
