The country here is made for four wheel driving, although many of the mountainous areas are closed in winter as they become impassable. Summer is when they come into their own. With our inbound business we have developed some four wheel drive options in the local area. These can range from 4-day "tag along" trips with an experienced guide and a minimum of two vehicles through to guided and driven trips with knowlegeable and experienced locals.
We work with experienced guide and offroad specialist David Robb, who has spent a lifetime discovering the region, has an enormous amount of knowledge about the area, and loves nothing better than to turn it all on for visitors who want to experience and understand the region. David can tailor his offroad driving to include hiking and casual fly fishing. (while not a professional fly fishing guide, he is a fisherman and knows where to go.)
Why rush through when you can spend a day driving beautiful unspoilt mountains and boil a kettle for tea over a campfire outside a remote hut?
Or take a gentle meander over metalled roads to icons like the Vulcan Hotel in St Bathans or the Dansey's Pass Inn?
And for those keen on a little winter driving, David of course has some places available to introduce you to some of our high country.
