Functions / Weddings

Lauderdale_doorway__3_Weddings and other functions and events are the main focus of Lauderdale, as well of course as being our family home.

‘The Barn’, our purpose built function and reception centre has a fully equipped commercial kitchen and bathroom complex.  This is available as the engine of any function and provides a useful retreat in the rare case of inclement weather.  The clean lines can be themed as you wish or we can keep the 'barn feel'.  We have recently added bi-fold doors for warmth and flexibility, lined the ceiling, and generally removed clutter.  This is to further enhance the clean lines and comfort of the place.

However, the real heart of the property is the old “Lauderdale Homestead" now a stone ruin.  This large and picturesque pile of stones has been stabilised and is powered and lighted.  Larger groups can spill over from the 'inside' onto the perfect lawn outside, with or without the croquet set up.  Musicians and entertainers of all sorts can of course be brought in, and the magical setting lends itself wonderfully to excess and pleasure.

Our church - the original St Paul's Presbyterian Church from Becks has lovely small proportions, a sloping floor, and is ideal for small, intimate occasions.

The 150-year old redwoods, in a grove in the parkland, also make for a lovely setting for drinks.

We have access to some truly talented chefs throughout the country, often with Michelin or luxury lodge experience, and even the finest gourmet hangi Maori chef in the country - Tom Loughlin.  If you do not already have a chef in mind and would like us to propose one of ours, just let us know what you are after and we can put forward the right individual.

We can put together events with a focus on wild food, on any of the excellent activities in the area, or underpin business gatherings with meaningful and high quality activities, dining and hosting.

There are a lot more photos of events on our Facebook Page.
